"A relic of forest resilience, carved by time, not tools."
In the heart of the Malaysian jungle, nature doesn't create art; it tests survival. This 20g specimen is a raw testimony to that process. A decade-long conversation between the Aquilaria tree and the wild, resulting in this fluid, sculpted silhouette.
At MYSOUL WOODS, we believe true luxury isn’t manufactured—it is discovered. We did not shape this piece; we merely recognized its soul. It is not an object; it is a meditative artifact, a physical fragment of a living history.
Hand-Cleansed to Reveal the Resin, Preserving the Bone.
This piece is exceptionally tactile. While the dark, resinous veins (the 'Tiger Stripes') are dense and rich, the surrounding wood fibers remain fibrous and light. It is not a 'Sinking' grade piece; it does not have the dead weight of stone.
Instead, it carries the "organic lightness" of a living artifact. Our minimal hand-refinement has delicately removed the surface debris, polishing the resin nodes until they are silken to the touch, while honoring the natural, fibrous texture of the wild wood. This is a piece designed to be held, its lack of density a reminder of its organic origin.
The Honest Sensory
Visual : A complex, high-contrast interplay of deep, near-black resinous veins (the Tiger Stripes) swirling through rich, golden-brown wood fibers. A central, natural 'wormhole' or cavity adds a layer of raw authenticity. Best viewed under focused, warm light to truly appreciate the depth of the resinization.
Olfactory : At room temperature, the scent is exceptionally subtle and introverted. If you are looking for a room-filling aroma just by displaying it, this is not the piece for you. This is not a synthetic home fragrance.
However, when introduced to gentle, electric heat (the "Ceremony of Coals"), it exhales a majestic, private symphony. It reveals notes of dark, medicinal balsams, wild forest honey, and a distant, ancient spice. A fragrance that requires intimacy and intention to experience.
Who is this NOT for?
-
The Weight Seeker : If you are a collector valuing only the mass and density of "Sinking" grade oud, please look elsewhere. This is valued for its rare aesthetic form and resin purity, not its heaviness.
-
The Passive Smeller : If you expect a strong, perfumed aura to radiate without the application of heat, you will be disappointed. This is a contemplative tool, not a passive air freshener.
-
The Perfectionist : This is a wild, raw, and organic material. It has natural fissures, a central cavity, and varying textures. It is not a factory-perfect object; it is a perfect natural imperfection.
Due to the 1-of-1 nature of this high-resin specimen, nature will never produce its duplicate. Once it is gone, it is part of someone else's history.
