The Obsidian Core

The Obsidian Core

| High Resin Malaysia Natural Oud Wood 52g
$2,600.00

"A stone made of oil, not wood."

Nature spent over half a century in the Malaysian rainforest attempting to turn this tree into a relic. In this 52g specimen, nature succeeded. This is not "wood containing oil"; it is a massive, solidified block of resin that happens to retain the silhouette of a tree. It represents the peak of survival—a dense, dark heart that has almost entirely replaced its biological origin.

At MYSOUL WOODS, our refinement process is guided by reverence. When our blade first touched this raw material, we intended to clean it. But as soon as the paper-thin white wood "skin" was peeled away, we encountered a cold, obsidian-black wall of pure resin.

We stopped immediately. Out of its 52g total weight, we estimate 50g to be pure, wild resin. To scrape further would be to waste the very essence that takes decades to form. What you hold in your hand is the "Heavy Armor" of the forest—raw, unpolished, and devastatingly dense.

The Raw Sovereignty of Oil.

This piece is defined by its extreme oil-to-wood ratio, which creates a specific type of aesthetic :

  • The "Unfinished" Aesthetic : The surface is rugged and shows the direct marks of the scraper. We refused to machine-polish it because that would sacrifice the precious weight of the wild resin.

  • The Weight Paradox : It carries a "stone-like" density. When you hold it, the 52g feels concentrated and heavy, a tactile reminder of its high resin saturation.

The Honest Warning (Must Read) :

  • Visual Grit : This is not a "pretty" decorative carving. It is a "material" masterpiece. You will see natural crevices and raw edges where the white wood met the black oil.

  • Dichotomy : The front is pitch black (Obsidian); the back is a deep tobacco-brown with raw oil clusters. It is not symmetrical; it is wild.

Sensory Experience

  • Visual : Under warm light, the resin has a dull, waxy luster—the hallmark of old-growth, wild-harvested Malaysian Aquilaria.

Who is this NOT for ?

  • The Perfectionist : If you want a smooth, glass-like finish or a symmetrical shape, this is not for you. This is for the collector who values Gram-for-Gram oil purity over visual symmetry.

  • The Budget-Focused : You are paying for a near-pure block of wild resin. If the price of 50g of raw, sinking-grade material seems high, you are looking at the wrong specimen.

Technical Transparency

  • Total Weight: 52.0g

  • Estimated Resin Content: ~50.0g (Extreme Saturation).

What is the return policy?
Since we sell 1-of-1 (one-of-a-kind) natural agarwood and every product is documented with strictly honest photography, we do not accept returns based on personal preference. Returns are only considered if the item is significantly different from the description or damaged during transit, provided an unboxing video is submitted within 48 hours of delivery.
How much are the shipping and customs duties?
All transactions are processed in USD. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight; however, please be aware that international customs duties are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Furthermore, as agarwood is a regulated species, your package may be subject to customs inspections, which is an unpredictable time cost we cannot control.
Can I purchase two identical agarwood pieces?
No. This is the "shortcoming" of natural agarwood: nature does not produce replicas. Every piece is a unique individual entity. We strictly forbid any deceptive displays and will never provide "identical" items just to increase sales.
When will I get my order?
Order processing typically takes 3-5 business days. International shipping times vary by region. Because we insist on legal compliance and obtaining necessary permits (such as CITES), the shipping cycle may be extended. If you require "next-day delivery," the cross-border trade of natural agarwood may not meet your speed expectations.
Is your wood "Wild-harvested"?
Here is our most honest answer: unless we can trace the source origin with 100% certainty, we will never use the "Wild-harvested" label. We value the integrity of our information more than attractive marketing jargon.
